Dr Giannakis received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 2001 and his medical and doctoral degrees from Washington University School of Medicine in 2009. He subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr Giannakis is a medical oncologist and clinical investigator at the Dana-Farber Gastrointestinal Cancer Center. He also conducts research at Dana-Farber and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to understand the molecular mechanisms of colorectal cancer formation and develop novel targeted and immune-based treatments for gastrointestinal cancers.
