As a young child growing up in a rural area, I saw how people saw doctors as superheroes with the incredible power to save lives. I was struck by the respect and the responsibilities that come with being a doctor. I always wanted to be a doctor. It?s a platform where I can have meaningful impact in people's lives. My favorite part of the job is learning something new each and every day while working with my colleagues and applying that to patient care. Seeing conditions improve is most rewarding. It keeps me motivated. I want patients to know that everything I do in terms of patient care is done with compassion. I?ll take the time to listen to their concerns and try to understand their problem. And I?ll take into account their cultural, emotional and financial factors to give them compassionate care. I?ll involve them in their own treatment plan and in the decision-making. This is how I?ll prioritize their needs and give them better care.
