Janet L. Smith, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. She earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude and class valedictorian. She completed her internal medicine residency at Washington University School of Medicine (Barnes Hospital) in St. Louis, Mo., where she also completed a fellowship in cardiology and PET research. Dr. Smith is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. In addition to clinical cardiology, Dr. Smith has special interests in women’s heart care, nuclear imaging, PET, echocardiography and TEE. Dr. Smith’s mission is to provide the highest quality, compassionate, patient-centered care in the area of cardiovascular medicine. Away from the office, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and playing tennis.
