He is also clinical associate professor in the Department of Radiology, Division of Interventional Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine.Dr. Picel specializes in diagnosing and treating disease with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. His expertise includes treating liver tumors, benign prostatic hyperplasia, osteoarthritis, portal hypertension, chronic venous disease, uterine fibroids, pulmonary embolism, and varicose veins.Dr. Picel’s research interests include using embolization, a nonsurgical procedure that decreases blood loss, for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
