Dr Chiles completed his undergraduate education at the University of Texas and did his medical school and residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He graduated from medical school with high honors and was awarded the Gold Headed Cane Award by his classmates as the senior most exemplifying the characteristics of humanity, humility and fidelity. Upon completion of his year as chief resident at UTMB, he completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, where he also served as the Chief Fellow. Dr Chiles then joined the faculty at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.
