Glenn W Wortmann, MD, FIDSA, FACP, is Section Director of Infectious Diseases at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Medical Director of Infection Prevention at the MedStar Institute of Quality and Safety. He is also a professor at Georgetown University and the Uniformed Services University. Dr Wortmann studied at Princeton on an ROTC scholarship, attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, and served in Germany. He completed his residency and fellowship at Walter Reed, where he worked for 14 years. Since 2012, he has led Infectious Diseases at MedStar, focusing on healthcare-associated infections, patient care, and medical education.
