Fatemeh Malekpour, MD, MSc is assistant professor in department of surgery at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She practices at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NYC. She received her medical degree from Azad University in Tehran, Iran and after completing general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship, graduated as the first female vascular surgeon in Iran in 2010. In the US, she completed general surgery residency at Bronx Lebanon medical center, New York, concurrently with a masters in Epidemiology at London School of hygiene and tropical medicine, followed by vascular surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern (UTSW) medical center, Dallas, Texas. Dr Malekpour was a faculty at UTSW before joining Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in 2021. She served as a member of international relations committee of Society for Vascular Surgery for 3 years. Her practice focus is on a wide variety of vascular diseases including aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, atherosclerotic arterial disease, hemodialysis access, and venous and varicose disease.
