D. Richard Martini, M.D. is Division Chief , Pediatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine. He is also Chair, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Primary Children"s Hospital. Dr. Martini graduated from John Hopkins University and received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. He completed his residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at University of Pittsburgh Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified: AM BD Psychiatry &; Neurology - Child &; Adolescent Psychiatry and AM BD Psychiatry &; Neurology – Psychiatry. Dr. Martini participated in several national initiatives involving collaboration between pediatrics and child and adolescent psychiatry and served as Councilor-at-Large for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP); ABPN General and Child Psychiatry Examiner; and is currently President-Elect of the American Association of Directors of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Martini"s clinical and academic interests focus on the psychiatric care of physically ill children and adolescents. . He is a recipient of the AACAP Simon Wile Award for consultation-liaison work and is a Fellow of the AACAP and the American Psychiatric Association.
