Margarita Chernovolenko is a board certified cardiologist with a special focus on advanced cardiac imaging. She is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine (in Radiology) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Chernovolenko’s areas of expertise include cardiovascular SPECT, cardiac PET, viability testing, 99m Technetium Pyrophosphate Scintigraphy, coronary CTA, and vascular ultrasound. She sees patients in her clinical office practice and serves on the attending staff to patients admitted to CUIMC.After graduating from Barnard College cum laude in 2011, Dr. Chernovolenko received her medical degree at the Jacobs School of Medicine at the University of Buffalo. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in General Cardiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel In New York City. She completed her advanced fellowship in cardiac imaging at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Chernovolenko is board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, comprehensive echocardiography, vascular medicine, and internal medicine.
