Richard Katz is the Bloedorn Professor and Director of the Division of Cardiology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr Katz joined the faculty of the George Washington University in 1979. After 18 years as Director of GW Noninvasive Cardiology, Dr Katz became Director of the Division of Cardiology in 1997. Dr Katz has grown the GW cardiology faculty to more than 15 full-time faculty plus a team of NPs, PAs, technicians, and research and other support staff. Made possible by a founding gift from Vice President Richard B Cheney in 2005, Dr Katz also became the Director of the GW Heart and Vascular Institute.
