Dr. Pablo Sanchez-Barranco received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Seville, Spain. He completed his General Psychiatry Residency at New York University School of Medicine where he also graduated from the Addiction Psychiatry and Public Psychiatry Fellowships. Dr. Sanchez-Barranco maintains a private practice with particular interest on Anxiety disorders, Trauma related disorder such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depressive and Bipolar illnesses, as well as co-occurring substance disorders. He holds the additional license to prescribe Buprenorphine (Suboxone) for the office based treatment of opioid dependency and has been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.Throughout his professional career, Dr. Sanchez-Barranco has published extensively in areas of psychopathology, history of psychology and psychoanalysis, as well as clinical psychopharmacology. He has earned numerous civilian and military recognitions including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Minority Fellowship and Best Primary Care Manager for the U.S. Army Northern Region Medical Command. Dr. Sanchez-Barranco is an Operation Enduring Freedom combat veteran and continues to serve as a Commissioned Medical Officer in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.
