Dr. Waksmonski is a graduate of Smith College and Harvard Medical School. She completed her training in Boston and worked at Worcester Memorial Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, MA (University of Massachusetts Medical School) and the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA (Harvard Medical School) before coming to Columbia. She is the course director for the Cardiovascular Section of "The Body - in Health and in Disease", a first year course for all Columbia medical and dental students. She serves on the Admissions Committee for the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. She maintains her interest in Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy by working as a consultant for the high-risk obstetrical patients with cardiac disease.
