Dr. Nagarah was awesome. This was my first pap smear, and I came into the clinic a complete mess of nerves. The nurse was incredibly kind, she helped me laugh and calm down a lot, as well as explaining everything I asked about and affirming what I needed when I came in. I feel horrible for not remembering her name, but she took my anxiety from a 10 to a 2 within 5 minutes. I'd heard a lot of horror stories with women not being taken seriously within women's healthcare, and I was scared I'd be talked over or not taken seriously. I couldn't have ended up with a better doctor. She was the sweetest, made sure I felt comfortable, explained everything she did before she did it, and made the whole process quick and painless. I was nervous about asking for my preferred form of birth control, because again, I've heard stories of doctors pushing first-time birth control users toward using the pill. Happy to say my choice was honored and a procedure was scheduled for less than 2 weeks later. It felt good to know I was being listened to, not just heard. After a long series of events causing me to postpone this appointment for over a year, and other providers that made me feel small and worthless, this was a welcome change. Thank you so much, Dr. Nagarah!
