Chaitali Patel, MD is a member of Summit Health’s Internal Medicine team. Dr. Patel provides primary care to patients, practicing evidence-based medicine while staying abreast of the latest in medical research and advances.
Dr. Patel listens carefully to her patients’ health updates and concerns. She values these conversations not only because they can help lead to a diagnosis, but also because they help to build trusting relationships over time. “I want every patient of mine to know that they are heard, and that all their concerns are addressed with utmost respect, dignity, and confidentiality,” she says.
Dr. Patel credits her years spent in medical research for shaping her interests and passion for medicine. She has authored peer-reviewed journal research and delivered more than a dozen presentations at professional conferences on topics including women’s health, oncology, and critical care. As a former assistant professor of medicine at University Hospital, the primary teaching hospital for Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, she enjoyed extending her knowledge to future medical professionals.
While medical research and topics related to cardiology, pulmonology, and critical care are among Dr. Patel’s interests, she considers primary care a privilege to work in because of its emphasis on preventive medicine and lifelong health. “I look forward to getting to know my patients over time and the opportunity to build a healthy life together,” she says.
In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling and reading.
