Dr. Douglas Solway is a podiatric physician who specializes in the treatment of many conditions of the foot and ankle. He offers advanced treatments such as regenerative therapy using platelet rich plasma (also known as PRP therapy), musculoskeletal ultrasound with guided injections, wound care using advanced biologics, and forefoot/rearfoot reconstructive surgery using advanced implants and new techniques. As a child, Dr. Solway was hospitalized repeatedly for treatments for clubfoot and asthma. His gratitude and admiration for the physicians who treated him and desire to help others as well, made him decide to become a doctor. He chose to specialize in podiatry because it combines his interest in orthopedics and plastic surgery.
In providing care, Dr. Solway listens carefully to his patients in order to make an accurate diagnosis and determine the course of treatment that will achieve the speediest recovery. He educates patients about their condition so they can be comfortable and satisfied with their treatment options.
Dr. Solway served as team physician for the Chicago Bulls for nine years, including the last two championship seasons. He also served as team physician for the Chicago Wolves hockey team from 1996 to 2004. He now heads the wound care clinic at IBJI in Morton Grove where he treats lower extremity non-healing wounds.
