Joseph Thornton is a physician assistant in Summit Health's Urgent Care Center. His areas of expertise include primary care, including Men's Health issues, emergency medicine, preventive health care services and travel medicine.
Previously, he worked at numerous institutions, including University Health Services, Princeton University, Fayrouz Pediatrics in Clifton, NJ, Newark Liberty International Airport Medical Offices, Seton Hall University/UMDNJ Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program, Bayley Seton Hospital, Staten Island, NY and U.S. Public Health Service Hospital, Staten Island, NY. He is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine, the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants (NJSSPA), and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
He also has worked with the Resource Center for Women and Their Families, an organization that provides aid for domestic violence survivors in Somerset County. When he is not working with patients, Mr. Thornton enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling and reading.
