Julie L. Scarano, DC is a member of Summit Health's Chiropractic Services team. Dr. Scarano practices general chiropractic medicine with special interest in athletic injuries, pre- and postnatal care, scar tissue adhesion (surgical/nonsurgical) and headaches.
She is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors, an active member of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors (ANJC), the American Chiropractic Association’s Sports Council (ACASC) and the Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS) and has been published in the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association (JCCA).
Following her doctorate degree, Dr. Scarano obtained credentialing as a Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner, a certification that allows her to specialize in chiropractic wellness and active care as well as offer nutritional guidance and lifestyle counseling. She went on to obtain the post-graduate designation of Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician providing her with advanced specialty training in the prevention, assessment and management of sports and physical fitness related injuries.
Additionally, she is certified in the instrument assisted soft tissue technique, ConnecTX and the Webster Technique, which is utilized in the treatment of pregnant women. With over 10 years of experience in the profession, Dr. Scarano is a strong advocate for conservative treatment first, but also feels a patient will benefit the most when they have doctors across specialties who communicate and collaborate with one another. A native of Little Falls, New York, Dr. Scarano is the Director of Alumni Communications for her High School Alumni Network. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for her alma mater, Northeast College of Health Sciences (formerly New York Chiropractic College) and is a proud member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Parsippany. She was a former captain of her tennis and softball teams at Hartwick College and remains active through running (a three time NYC Marathoner), paddle-boarding, hiking, and yoga.
