Dr. Marc Heincelman is originally from Rockville, Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in rehabilitation sciences/athletic training. He then moved to Chicago where he received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed an internal medicine/pediatrics combined residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2014. In 2014 to 2015, he served as internal medicine chief resident. Currently, he is an academic hospitalist and assistant professor within the Division of General Internal Medicine. He also serves at the clerkship director for the Department of Medicine as well the co-vice chair for quality improvement. His education interests include clinical reasoning. His research interests include interhospital transfers.
