Dr. Lara's special interests are fetal cardiology, quality improvement and patient safety. He is the Acting Chief Quality Officer for the Department of Pediatrics. He is the co-director of the Ochsner Fetal Diagnosis and Care Program. He is a site co-investigator in the Phase IIb Efficacy Study of Umbilical Cord Blood Mononuclear Cell Intramyocardial Injection for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and HLHS Variants trial.
