Peter Tang, MD, MPH, is an orthopaedic surgeon who has extensive expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery.
He can manage fractures of the finger, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. He also takes care of cysts, tendon problems (trigger finger), De Quervain's tenosynovitis and tennis elbow and nerve compression (carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome). Dr. Tang welcomes adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Tang received his undergraduate degree and Master of Public Health from Harvard. He obtained his medical degree from Weill Medical School of Cornell University. He completed his residency and hand fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Tang is the Program Director of the Hand, Upper Extremity & Microvascular Surgery Fellowship where he is responsible for the training of two fellows a year. He is Director of the Center for Nerve & Brachial Plexus Injury. He is a national expert in nerve repair and reconstruction. He teaches the latest techniques to residents, fellows and attendings at educational programs.
Dr. Tang also performs research to improve the field as well as patient care and outcomes. He has presented his research nationally and internationally. He is certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Subspecialty Certificate in Hand Surgery.
