Rochelle Hanson

Dr. Rochelle Hanson is a tenured professor at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVC), Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Medical University of South Carolina. She is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of trauma among youth and adults. She also serves as Director of the NCVC Family and Child Program. She has led several research and services grants focused on the best ways to train professionals in delivering treatments for those experiencing trauma-related problems. She is a national trainer in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events and provides training within and outside of the United States. She was the 2010 recipient of the MUSC teaching excellence award as an educator-mentor. Her current work also focuses on ways to provide integrated and collaborative health care services in pediatric primary care. Dr. Hanson serves as a supervisor for psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows at the NCVC and in pediatric primary care.
