Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
It was one of those things where I knew after my first rotation as a 3rd year medical student that I wanted to pursue GI. I feel that there is something universally relatable about symptoms affecting the GI tract and I enjoy the aspect of caring for patients in this arena.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I enjoy the variety throughout the field of digestive & liver diseases, but do carry an interest in Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis) and gastric cancer and its predispositions.
Where did you study?
I attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, completed internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL and completed my GI fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX.
What certifications do you hold?
Board certified in Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
My two young children keep my husband and I busy! You can often find us riding bikes and scooters around outside… usually to go get ice cream!
Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English
