Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
I enjoy the opportunity to diagnose and treat patients in a clinic environment. When you combine that with an ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, I can provide a full scope of GI care.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I really enjoy all aspects from colon cancer screening, IBS, GERD, to IBD and including advanced procedures such as ERCP.
Where did you study?
Undergraduate: Texas A&M University, Medical School: University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, Residency: Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, GI Fellowship: University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
What certifications do you hold?
Outside of basic endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy, I also am certified in in-office hemorrhoid banding and ERCP.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
As a family we enjoy traveling. I am also an avid golfer and enjoy watching college football, hunting and tennis.
Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?
Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and I was voted one of the Top Doctors in Fort Worth 2013, 2014, 2016.
