Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Medicine and global mission work were two interests of mine at a young age. I finally realized that they go hand-in-hand, and I do not have to choose one. At a young age I knew I wanted to become a physician. I also knew I wanted to help those who were less fortunate to learn about their health, their bodies, and how to take care of themselves. Through medicine, I can help people here, as well as in countries abroad. Teaching preventive medicine to populations in impoverished countries is one of my goals. What I want my patients to know about me: I enjoy the continuity I have with my patients. The physician-patient relationship is very important to me, a relationship where trust goes both ways.
