I studied Clinical Nutrition at UC Davis and now work as a Degreed Clinical Nutritionist in Davis, CA and through online coaching over Skype and email.

With "Michael Manning Wellness Consulting" I provide personalized Nutrition Focused Meal Plans and Diet Consultation. Initially my clients and I have a consultation to find out their goals and desires around making progress with their health. From there I design a personalized Nutrition Focused Meal Plan and each week we meet in my office, their home, out for coffee or on Skype to discuss their progress and any challenges they are facing or questions they may have.

My area of expertise is in gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction which is helpful not just for those experiencing issues with their GI but because all aspects of nutrition and diet involve passage through our GI tract from the mouth, through the esophagus, into the stomach, down the gut (small intestine) and into the colon (large intestine). Understanding each element of this transit of our food is crucial since there may be dysfunction occurring at each step.

However, more often I see clients who are just wanting to be healthier in their day-to-day lives, for themselves and for their loved ones. This includes skin care, weight loss, muscle building, body fat reduction, improved biomarkers, detoxification, fasting techniques and decreasing body and joint pains.

Services While most often I provide personalized Nutrition Focused Meal Plans and Diet Consultations, I do work as a Personal Fitness Trainer and Chef. This may include doing exercise and mobility testing to design a personalized Fitness & Movement Routine for you or we may go over knife skills in the kitchen to improve cooking/prep time, variety and just how to make delicious healthy meals.

- Together we can tackle some of the most common misconceptions in the field of Nutrition as well as some of the best foods out there for a great diet and lifestyle. We can also explore your most burning questions regarding health, food, and and overall wellness. This will give us a chance to further explore and go over why I have chosen the meal plan and foods I have for you.

Nutrition Focused Meal Plans
- This is a personalized plan outlining a lifestyle diet that works best to reach your goals. I provide macronutrient ratios, resources to dig further on my recommendations, and some key supplement recommendations to get started.

- I will detail out the science and 'Big Why's" of what I have chosen for you, give a three day plan that will be rotated throughout the week, links and details to specific resources and give a full explanation of supplements I recommend for optimizing your brain, body, sleep and digestion and overall wellness.

Body Weight Exercises, Evaluation & Routine
- Here we are able to explore your movement patterns, range of motion and test for strength imbalances. I like to see where you are starting so we can complement a Fitness & Movement Routine with a great Nutrition Focused Meal Plan for your lifestyle.

Kitchen Make-Over
- This is where we will be exploring your pantry and refrigerator, tossing out anything that is detrimental to your well-being and performance as well as exploring healthier options and substitutions.

Food Label Reading, 101
- We take a trip into your pantry, refrigerator, local grocery store or even farmer’s market to spot and notice ingredients and foods that don’t belong in your kitchen and explore the ones that do.

Stress Reduction & Better Sleep Techniques
- A great diet and movement routine are key to improving stress and sleep but there are techniques to optimize and take this further. I lay out some simple tricks and how to change them up if this is an area you have been struggling with or would like to improve.

Cooking Tips & Techniques
A key theme around everything I do is food and how it affects the body. Whether it is muscle recovery, better digestion or improved sleep, so cooking techniques are very important. We discuss topics like knife skills and food storage as well as temperatures and cooking mediums.
