Dr Shervin Shafa is a board-certified gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also trained in advanced therapeutics for malignant and benign esophageal lesions. Dr Shafa’s research focuses on endoscopic techniques and non-invasive methods for diagnosing and managing early esophageal cancer and Barrett’s esophagus. He also specializes in cryoablative therapy for treating Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal cancer.
