When a loved one can no longer live alone, the decision to relocate them can be heart wrenching to a family. The move impacts everyone, not just the person who must surrender some of his independence. And questions arise, like ôwill they be cared for?ö and ôwill it be a nice place?ö Perhaps the hardest question for the family of a senior citizen in this life stage is, ôam I doing the right thing?ö We, at A Bradley House II, would like to answer some of your questions. First, we are located in beautiful Simi Valley, just outside Los Angeles. The area has a moderate climate, and is minutes from shopping and other amenities. There is a bus stop nearby, but we offer complimentary transportation to our residents. A Bradley House is an apartment-style assisted living facility. That means we offer help to our residents in some aspects of daily living, such as medication management and dressing. It is not independent living, but residents are free to make decisions and maintain some independence. Still, we have a 24-hour- awake staff that assures someone will answer if your loved one must call for help at any hour. We staff three caregivers for six residents. There is an on-call physician, as well as visiting therapists to assure convenient care. At A Bradley House II, residents can get help with housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation, but there is also a meal plan which offers kosher food, if residents desire it. All apartments have wheelchair accessible showers. A Bradley House II is a micro-community which means it offers assisted living in a smaller, less-institutional setting.
