God's Butterfly ~
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through a little hole. It all of a sudden seemed to stop making progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily, but it had a swollen body and small-shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand, supporting its body weight. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.
It was never able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening was God’s way of forcing fluid from the body into its wings. The struggle would be rewarded by the ability to fly!
The struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without obstacles, it would cripple us like it crippled the butterfly.
So think of a butterfly and its struggle when you are face to face with pain and strife ~ soon God will teach you how to fly! So go and be Blessed!!

Healing Wings is based on the premise of a story that we walk beside people through their struggles. Below is a story about God's butterfly. It is a powerful story of how we allow the process of wounds to heal through God, Counseling, and a person's walk through their pain and triumph because of the journey. Learning to cope with our pain and to see how we may help become healers ourselves is a process that is fulfilling and can be joyful. DeeDee is a Clinical Professional Counselor with Supervision Status and one of the few Licensed in the State of Ohio as Pastoral Counselor. She is also a National Certified Counselor through the Board of National Certified Counselors. She has had a career working in the schools and universities such as The Ohio State University that she has helped many with Aspergers', ADHD, and other learning exceptions.
*I specialized in counseling adolescents and young adults in Asperger’s, Sensory issues, and all types of ADHD including my types of other special abilities. I found out that these very special people have taught me more about life than a thousand books can explain. I am so privilege to know the many precious souls that have changed my life. You all have a special place in my heart.
*I am also trained in serving our Armed forces and Veterans which I am humbled to be a small part of their healing. You know you are a real hero when your blood type is written in your boots.
*I am also certified and trained in various Cognitive Behavioral therapy including Motivational therapy, Prolonged Exposure therapy, Mindfulness therapy, to name some and use many techniques that subscribe to these therapies. That is just for those who need to know they boring stuff! ;) The rest of my training came from walking with precious and hurting people that I have been blessed to be ask to come into their lives to serve. I know through God's grace and plan -- it is only by His will that HE allows me to be his instrument during those painful times. It is only through my past pain that I can help others walk through theirs and be Close to the broken. For Psalms 34 states "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit."
*I am also training and experience in Small Business counseling which I do at times specialize in family businesses. It is amazing how important it is to repair relationships in the work place. It sometimes becomes the focus instead of of the business at hand.
