Maureen earned a degree in Dietetics from the University of Northern Colorado. She completed her Dietetic Internship through the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, a program with a special focus on diabetes education. She has also earned a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Maureen's primary professional focus is individual nutrition counseling and Medical Nutrition Therapy. She assists and encourages people who are looking to improve their overall health through changes in dietary habits.
Before starting her own dietetics practice, Maureen was employed as the lead program dietitian at the Winchester Medical Center Bariatric Program. In that setting, she developed extensive experience with medical weight loss, post-bariatric surgery nutrition, and addressing disordered eating behaviors.
Maureen's experience also includes: Peninsula Regional Medical Center Diabetes Education Program, Atlantic General Hospital Diabetes Education Program, "Maintaining Active Citizens" Senior Centers, Culpeper Senior Nutrition Center, DaVita Dialysis Center, Holly Center (Developmental Disabilities), Worcester County Public Schools, and raising three children of her own.
