Swedish Massage
This is the most common type of massage therapy in the United States. It is also known as Swedish massage or simply massage therapy.
Lori uses long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil.
This massage is done to be very gentle and relaxing. If this is your first massage, the Swedish Massage is a great way to start. You won't be disappointed.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy massage is a massage using one or more scented plant oils. These plant oils are commonly called "essential oils" to address specific needs.
Oil options range, but are not limited to; relaxing, energizing, stress-reducing, and balancing. An example of an aromatherapy massage oil would be lavender.
Aromatherapy massage is often most suited for stress-related conditions or conditions that need an emotional release.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of the body's muscles. We use a slower stroke or friction techniques all along the muscle.
Deep tissue massage is used for tight or muscles in pain, repetitive strain, postural problems, and recovery from injury. It is not uncommon for the body to be sore one to two days after a deep tissue massage, due to the release of toxins from the body.
Reflexology Massage
Reflexology is a holistic healing method which involves pressure and massage of specific points found on the feet and hands, originally known as reflex zone therapy. Energy blocks in the human body are reflected on the hands and feet. By using specific techniques, one can detect blocks as tight places or by the presence of gritty areas (crystalline deposits). These techniques are used to dissipate energy blocks and break down crystalline structures.
Chair Massage
A Chair massage is a type of seated massage that is normally on the shorter end -- 10 or 30 minutes -- the massage focuses on your back, shoulders and neck and arms. The Chair massage is performed over your clothes and doesn't use any massage oil.
Seated in a special chair with your face resting in a cradle, looking down towards the floor, and padded supports for your arms. The back and neck are completely relaxed, while the therapist relieves muscle tension using massage styles like kneading and compression.
