I have proliferative diabetic retinopathy. In 2012 Haynie said I had 1 small cataract that wasn't impairing my vision and didn't require treatment but I did need new glasses, which I got. They didn't help much. In 2013 Hayne said the cataract hadn't changed, wasn't impairing my vision and didn't require treatment but my vision was much worse & I needed new glasses again. This time the optometrist that I went to told me that I didn't need new glasses, I need cataract surgery in both eyes in order to repair my vision. By this point I could barely see to read & had thought I needed bifocals. I went to a cataract specialist to confirm and he said I DO have cataracts in both eyes and the eye that was the worst (now causing me to see nearly double when trying to read) was in the eye Haynie never even SAW a cataract in. I now have cataract surgery scheduled for both eyes & pray the delay in diagnosis doesn't cost me.
