About
Nora Doebrich
Nora Doebrich attended Pratt Institute to pursue a graduate degree in Creative Arts Therapy and has over 8 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in the following settings; inpatient mental health hospital, domestic violence shelter, alternative high school for adolescents struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues, outpatient mental health clinic for children, adolescents and families and outreach counseling services to individuals and families who have experienced trauma (child fatality, domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse and violent crimes within our community). These experiences have expanded her view of our world and aided in self-discovery, providing a deeper understanding humanity and empathy.
Nora has training in many models of therapy, including, but not limited to; Creative Arts Therapy (Dance, Music, Art and Drama Therapy), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Client Centered Therapy, Trauma-focused Therapy and Structural Family Therapy. Nora does not follow one model of therapy, rather meets her client where he or she is and develops interventions with a client, base on the presenting reason(s) for seeking therapy. Nora views therapy as a shared journey between therapist and client and work together towards addressing the presenting needs.
Nora believes that we cannot promote healing unless we address our entire being, in mind, body and soul. Therefore, Nora does not solely use talk therapy, rather, she utilizes multiple techniques that allow clients to reconnect with their mind and body, providing a more holistic process.
Nora is now seeking new clients; children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Nora has experience working with the following individuals who struggle with the follow concerns; trauma related concerns, depression, post-partum depression, anxiety, recovering from abuse, ADHD, stress, sleep difficulties, infertility, miscarriages and grief and loss issues.
