Dr. Iscan received her Ph.D. in Psychology in 1998 from Ankara University. Her studies focused on sense of self and identity. She published several research studies on identity disturbances and family relationships. She continued her studies here in the US; first at the University of Michigan studying suicide and self-harm, later at Austen Riggs Center, and Yale Child Study Center studying effectiveness of psychotherapy. She authored several presentations on ego and defense mechanisms. Her second doctorate is from Fielding Graduate University. Her research is on self and mood along with psychotherapy at Harvard Medical School Psychotherapy Research Group.Her specializations include treatment of mood disorders, PTSD, substance use, personality disorders, and motivation enhancement.
