This place gets one star because the site won't let me give it zero. If you're looking to throw money down the drain and into a shady business, look no further. While the owner seems to be a good teacher/instructor, he unfortunately delegates all the business aspects of the gym to his wife- and that's where the place falls apart, as she has zero business or interpersonal skills. Let's look at some facts:
1. It's only open 5pm-9pm, or whenever the owners get there from their day jobs and open the doors. If you're looking for a gym with only 4 hours of access per day for $85-100/month, then this is the place for you. You won't see hours posted on the doors/windows, in the contract, or anywhere else, because there aren't any.
2. As mentioned, the business side of this place is super shady. They don't read or understand their own contracts, don't reply to emails/voicemails or any other form of communication, and when they do it's in a completely unintelligible, threatening way. They "keep the contracts at their house", not at the gym, so conveniently they're the only ones who can see or read them.
3. Most people will tell you never to sign a long term gym contract, and here it's absolutely true. While there is a clearly stated cancellation clause in the contract, the gym doesn't honor it. They require a certified letter sent by the USPS, which is not unusual, however, the USPS doesn't normally deliver after 5pm. See #1 above. Pretty convenient, if you ask me.
4. Successful gyms don't need to continually use Groupon, Living Social, etc to garner business.
5. They're rated "F" by the Better Business Bureau.
6. Feel free to peruse their Facebook pages (two of them) or Twitter feeds. There's nothing related to the business on any of those sites. Oh, and if you're looking for their actual website, keep looking- it was taken down over 6 months ago, never to resurface. Again, convenient.
7. They're not registered with the state, as required by the Health Club Services Law. In other words, they're not going to be around long.
Let's face it- there are literally DOZENS of other, better, cheaper options out there for getting in shape. Regular gyms, Crossfit boxes, MMA gyms, Martial Arts studios, etc. Take your money and go elsewhere where you can have full access to a gym more than 4 hours a day at a cheaper price and where you'll be dealing with professionals instead of shady, sketchy thieves.
