Training
Dylan is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Behavioral Health Nurse with experience in the specialty areas of addictions, womens mental health concerns, spiritual issues, eating disorders and holistic, body-centered counseling.
Since earning her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology in 1983 from Lesley College (now Lesley University), she has continued to study both traditional and alternative approaches to promoting emotional wellbeing. She has studied hypnotherapy, Radix, Bioenergetics, Gestalt therapy, Focusing, cognitive behavioral interventions and many other approaches to assisting clients to greater awareness and change. She also draws on her studies of other holistic healing tools including Reiki, nutrition, yoga, breathwork and meditation in order to offer a comprehensive and flexible service geared to the needs of individual clients.
Since 1983, Dylan has provided individual, family and group counseling, staff and patient education and supervision of counselors in a variety of professional settings. She has worked in inpatient, day treatment and outpatient settings, at community health centers and in addiction treatment centers as both a psychiatric nurse and mental health counselor and has also served the community through her private practice.
