Strongly do not recommend. Found her to be inept and unable to properly diagnose certain things. Also found her unable to fully understand the long-term ramifications of certain serious psychiatric disorders.

If you have a child who has been seriously abused or if you have been the victim of catastrophic child abuse yourself--- either (verbal or sexual) -- find another therapist that is more qualified.

In addition, if you were ever the victim of any type of abuse by a Priest-- she is definitely not sympathetic. Perhaps this is due to where she attended school or her own religion. (Who knows) My opinion based on first hand observation. This is wrong and highly detrimental to the health of the patient.

Therapists must never be biased.

Finally, I do not believe she is truly capable of understanding how severe child abuse can destroy a young person's life and potentially disable them as an adult.

Patients with these types of severe problems need a therapist who is truly qualified to address these issues. Perhaps a better choice would be finding a Psychiatrist (an actual medical doctor)

Strongly do not recommend this therapist!!

In addition to my own experience, I visited the Connecticut State Department of Health's website, and read that Dr. Kathleen Murphy Phd (Dayville) was once placed on a full year long probation by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists/ Connecticut Department of Health.

These are sometimes referred to as "Public or Disciplinary actions" that are taken out by the Board of Psychologists/ Connecticut Department of Health against an individual Psychologist.

This is very serious stuff, not to be taken lightly.
