Absolutely the worst counseling agency. They ruined my child. He went from a slight anxiety to some serious mental health issues, When I tried to address the problem, they refused to meet with me. They don't send records. I finally had to file a lawsuit. Warning all parents! They don't deserve even a star.......a minus 3 stars maybe.

When I called to look for a possible match for my son for a counselor, I had to leave a message in the middle of the day. Once the message was returned, the woman set me up excitedly with her "best match". She did *not* prepare me for:

No receptionist -- NO HUMAN -- at the office. At all. You basically walk in confused and get more confused.

While my son and I were both confused for about 25 minutes and I figured out where the 'new patient files' were and started filling one out...and finished....the counselor was 15 minutes late for our first appointment.

First thing she talked about? Policy. That we should not be late or miss an appointment without 24 hours notice or we will be billed.

She was talking over me while I attempted to ask questions.

She did not attempt to connect with me.

She 'answered' questions she thought I was about to ask (??) without listening to me (isn't this kind of office the one place one is supposed to be listened to?).

She ....didn't believe me / my son's problems or needs at first. I don't lie; neither does he.

I FLED an abusive parachurch minister, and I alluded to _fleeing_ (ie, me quietly saying, 'shh, you've got a DV case on your hands') when she was taking the family history....and yet:
1. she got excited about the dad's job ("teaching" at a seminary [what he told the kids. he doesn't. he's an administrator]. in a non-objective way, she felt...happiness at this, and HELLO, the man is thousands of miles away and I'm asking you to HELP MY KID WITH ABANDONMENT ISSUES
2. she scolded me for not going to church currently. She *wanted answers on that**. So I said firmly, "We'll circle back to that in the parent meeting."

The office overall does not have their staff schedule their own appointments (I assume, except for the two big-wigs who have their own assistant), and one cannot just make the next appointment *at* the end of the current appointment---where is that not done? That's the closure-connection. Nope, more red tape.

I give em one star because I do actually believe that they'll finally help my son be evaluated for his disabilities and his position on the autism spectrum, and THEN he can go somewhere else (as well as school) AND FINALLY GET REAL HELP. No one helps my youngest son. I'm tired of working SO hard to get by and have this kind of lack of respect as a person and a parent.

It's also one star (as opposed to none) because my son came away with hope that he'd get help with school stress. I did not crush it. I vented to other adults later---so I guess I DO have a support system, even though the counselor laid down judgement upon my sorry soul for not having a church. She doesn't know my story and she judged me: I severed ties with family of origin because I did not want to pass down the generational abuse---and my 2 boys are witness to the fact that I did not.

Never! They have lots of business, but they do such a great job of never overbooking.
