I work with Senior Citizens who are clinically depressed, withdrawn, or overly anxious. There are about four younger clients as well. I help them with their writing and career goals as a volunteer peer counselor/supporter, and some day hope to be a counselor at the Valley Wellness Center here in Pleasanton. I have a BA in English from UCB--English Literature/Womens Studies. I graduated from there in the the Fall of 1980. I also help with cooking and shopping for meals for these clients. I attend this center 2-3 times a week, and I enjoy going to the Center here. I have helped the dually diagnosed clients here to sharpen their communication skills,and I am pleased with my progress here!
