Dr. Carol Wong is a licensed child clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of preschool-age children, school-age children, adolescents, and young adults who are experiencing problems associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders (including Autism, Asperger's Disorder, High Functioning Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified), Anxiety disorders (including Selective Mutism and Social Anxiety), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), cultural and identity development, and stressful transitions. Dr. Carol Wong received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington with a specialty in Child Clinical Psychology. The Child Clinical Psychology Program provides additional training in child and adolescent development and evidence-based assessment and treatment. During her doctoral training, she taught undergraduate classes, conducted psychological evaluations, provided individual therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults, and conducted a variety of therapy groups.
Training
Dr. Carol Wong completed her predoctoral internship at Stanford University Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Children's Health Council in Palo Alto. Then she completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Children's Health Council, in which she received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of young children under the age of 6 and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Following her fellowship at Children's Health Council, I joined their staff as a psychologist, providing diagnostic evaluations, social skills groups, and therapy to children and adolescents, as well as serving as a supervisor to pre- and postdoctoral trainees in group therapy.
