Dr. David Richardson, Medical Director of San Marino Eye (Vision Center in California), is a highly trained ophthalmologist (eye surgeon). He received his medical training from Harvard Medical School and the University of Southern California / Doheny Eye Institute, two of the countrys top-teaching institutions.
Dr. Richardson joined the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates in 1999 and became San Gabriel’s first ophthalmologist to use such modern technologies as the accommodating Crystalens (with cataract surgery) and the iTrack microcatheter (canaloplasty glaucoma surgery). In 2013, Dr. Richardson left San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates, moved to San Marino, CA and established San Marino Eye – San Marino’s leading vision center for glaucoma surgery, cataract surgery, clear lens exchange, and general ophthalmologic care. Dr. Richardson is among an elite group of glaucoma specialists in the country performing the highly specialized canaloplasty procedure. In fact, patients have traveled half way around the world to have canaloplasty by Dr. Richardson.
Dr. Richardson not only performs canaloplasty, he also teaches other surgeons how to do so. As one of the leading canaloplasty surgeons he regularly gives talks at the national meetings of eye surgeons. As part of his quest to make this safer glaucoma surgery available to glaucoma patients throughout the world, he is often asked to fly out to teach individual doctors how best to incorporate canaloplasty into their practices. Dr. Richardson was recently included among a panel of respected glaucoma surgeons whose goal was to find ways to make it easier for other eye surgeons to learn how to perform canaloplasty. You can read what this panel had to say here.

They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. They make sure to treat all their clients equally and without favoritism. I've always hated it when I've seen favoritism going on at other places I've visited. It's nice that it doesn't happen here. Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all.
This is tops for Opthomology and a well rounded analysis along with excellent results. They definitely care about patient comfort because they have the best waiting room chairs I've ever seen, I felt like I was floating on a cloud. I could have easily dozed off while waiting to see the ophthalmologist. I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. I couldn't believe how knowledgeable and well-informed the staff was. They were able to answer all my questions, except the ones they needed to have their boss's input on. It was great to be able to talk to such a skilled staff. I couldn't believe how great their office looked. It was very obvious that they took pride in the office's appearance. It was one of the best looking offices I've ever seen.
