We have been providing family-friendly quality eye care in the Permian Basin since 1943 and are a proud VSP provider. Our goal is to help people of all ages see more clearly, comfortably and easily. In addition to routine eye exams and contact lens fittings, we also provide screenings for glaucoma and cataracts using the latest technology.

Education Dr. Hembree is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. In addition, Dr. Hembree attended an additional year of study at the Southern California College of Optometry in pediatric optometry and vision therapy.

Dr. Slider is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, West Texas Optometric Association, and a charter member of the Optometric Recognition Award Program.

Dr. Joshua B. Steger graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Molecular Biology from Texas Lutheran University. Dr. Steger received extensive externship training at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Hospital in Albuqurque, NM where he gained experience in diagnostic treatment of glaucoma, retinal pathologies, and other diseases. Additionally, he received training at Alamo Eye Care in San Antonio where he gained vast experience with dry eye treatment and contact lenses. Dr. Steger's interests lie in dry eye treatment, glaucoma, and pediatrics.
Certification Dr. Hembree is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, West Texas Optometric Association, as well as a member of the Recognition Award Program of the AOA.

Dr. Slider has also served in the Odessa Jaycess, Grandview Lions Club, American Cancer Society, and Odessa City Council.

Complete disappointment. Treated as if I were taking up their time. The only employee that seemed to enjoy her job and the clients was new to the office. She helped pick the frames and assisted with the follow-up. Could not see properly from the glasses nor contacts. Was told to just get use to them. Guess I just get use to the headaches from eye strain also. Would not recommend, ever..

They always make an extra effort to make me feel respected and attended to. They always listen to every question or concern I may have. They were by far one of the best I've ever seen in their field. It was obvious that they've been exceeding their clients' expectations for many years. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. They were very sympathetic to my situation, and made me feel cared for. I knew that I could count on them at all times. It was nice to hear how much the staff respected them. It made me that much more confident that I was under the care of a professional.
