I am a licensed psychotherapist who works with people to achieve an overall sense of well-being. I believe that our struggles are rooted in our unconscious, which is why happiness is more difficult than "mind over matter". I will actively collaborate with you to discover the automatic patterns of thinking and systems of beliefs that are ingrained in every one of us, and that inhibit our experiencing satisfaction and joy. My goal is to facilitate increased insight and awareness in order to empower you to live a more full and rewarding life, the way you imagine it.
Having a connection with a therapist you trust and respect is key for therapy to work. I take great care to provide a supportive environment where you will feel comfortable exploring what is on your mind. I am friendly and easy to talk to, and value the use of humor in the therapeutic process.
Beyond my graduate school training I have advanced clinical training in psychoanalysis. I have experience helping people with various relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, addictions, eating disorders, and trauma. I also particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults having trouble with self-esteem, identity, or attention related difficulties.
