About

Rohini Kanniganti, MD, MSPH

I am a Board Certified Family Physician bringing together the best of western or conventional medicine and other healing alternatives to the care of any person needing more time with a heart-centered doctor. Typically, my patients have a variety of health conditions ranging from mild to severe or life-threatening. They are frightened and confused, lost in the medical jargon and conflicting data and treatment approaches. I help them find clarity, healing and resilience.

Services

-Personalized support and guidance that addresses the physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of the patient; intention is increased resiliency and sense of well-being irrespective of the intensity of the health challenge

-Integrative Medicine: Up-to-date information about the options, outcomes, probabilities, and scientific uncertainties of available treatment options - both conventional medicine and Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Therapies (such as ayurveda, acupuncture, chiropractic, massage and physical/occupational therapy, psychotherapy, naturopathy, homeopathy and nutrition)

- Informed Medical Decision Making - focusing on safest, least invasive and most cost effective approaches that serve personal preferences about quality of life

- Advocacy: Empowering partnership with the patients to help them navigate the medical maze; act as a bridge between the patient and their health care team

- Stress Management: Using HeartMath techniques including em-Wave, Imagery, Ayurveda, Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation; focused on helping patient not only to adapt to their life as it is happening, but also to become resilient and powerful

-Nutritional/Allergy Counseling: Focus on constitutional support (per Ayurveda) and elimination of food and environmental allergies as possible underlying causes or triggers for the health condition

-Team Consultation, with CAM practitioners
