On 08/23/16, my husband had a pacemaker implanted by Dr. Mahoney. He had follow-up appts with Dr. Mahoney on 12/01/16, 04/19/17 and 06/07/18 to verify all was well. We received a call on 09/18/18 that the pacemaker was not transmitting, and we needed to reset the monitor with the manufacturer, Abbott. During the call with Abbott, we were told that the pacemaker's model number was entered incorrectly, and his pacemaker had NEVER been monitored. I contacted Heart Consultants to tell them the results of the Abbott call. During the next office appt with Dr. Mahoney 05/01/19, I asked him how he had verified everything was well with my husband's pacemaker and had never picked up on the fact that he had not seen any monitored readings in almost three years. At first, Dr. Mahoney said we didn't understand, then he said we had 30 days to find another cardiologist because it was obvious that we had lost confidence in the practice. We even received a registered letter saying we were terminated. We wished Dr. Mahoney had been so thorough in monitoring my husband's pacemaker.
