I can't believe that Dr. Lo doesn't have any reviews yet! I feel compelled to tell you about my experience with him. I've had numerous bad experiences with dentists in the past so it would be shocking to anyone that knows me to see me give such high praise to a dentist.
In 2009 I had a molar break open after having not seen a dentist in 3-4 years. I called my sister (a teeth freak) and she highly recommended her dentist, Dr. Lo. It was the weekend but my sister had an off hours number for him (again my sister is a MAJOR teeth freak). Dr Lo was very nice and offered to make an emergency appointment in his office but warned that since his support staff wasn't going to be there it would be an expensive appointment to assess the situation and he probably wouldn't be able to properly take care of it until Monday anyway. My first thought was that he could've charged me the extra money and had me come back for a fix on Monday, but he didn't. He ran down a list of standard new patient questions about allergies and preexisting conditions, called me in a prescription of antibiotics to the pharmacy, and set up an appointment for first thing Monday morning. When he got into my mouth he said that there was a 50/50 chance he could save the tooth from having a root canal and asked me what I would like to do because a root canal would cost more. I was thinking, "Is this guy related to Mother Theresa or something? Again with the not charging for unnecessary procedures that many other dentists would probably proceed with!" I asked him to save my tooth if he could and he did!
He even helped me determine why I've had such bad experiences in the past. Turns out I'm highly resistant to the numbing medication and my body burns through it a lot faster than a normal person. That double-whammy has been making me feel pain through just about every dental procedure I've ever had. His office now schedules me earlier than most to make sure I have time to go completely numb. He's even stopped halfway through procedures to give me an extra shot so I stay that way. Being completely numb during dental procedures has been a night and day difference for me. I'm no longer so afraid of going to the dentist because it's not extremely painful anymore.
I've been seeing Dr. Lo for two years and every time has been as pleasant as it can possibly be when going to a dentist. I've had regular appointments with him to fix the years of neglect for oral health that was caused by fear. He has never once made me feel bad for not taking care of my teeth in the past, while helping me change some of my bad habits. I know that by continuing to see him and follow his advice I can eventually have the smile I've always wanted.
Dr. Lo is the best dentist EVER and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, especially people like me who have had bad dental experiences in the past. He is honest, kind, compassionate, has a great sense of humor, and above all else - he has proven to me that he is more concerned about providing quality dental care than making a quick buck.
