I live very far from a hospital and scheduled an appointment for an arthrogram injection as far in advance as they would let me for the narrow window when I was visiting my parents. I asked repeatedly for special instructions both when I made the appointment and when they called to confirm. After an hour of registration, they noticed I had taken advil OTC and they have a policy against doing the procedure if you've had NSAIDS in the last 5 days. No one told me, and I was unable to have the procedure and had less than 5 days before leaving. The patient rep was very nice and tried to help, but it was not a fixable problem. It could have been entirely prevented if they had read me the pre screen questionnaire.
