They do not want children in the office. I waited almost 2 weeks for my appointment for physical therapy. I'm in a large amount of pain, and I was really hoping to get some help with it. My child was off of school, it wasn't something I expected when I made the appointment. I made it thinking she would have class that day; I'd just drop her off and go to my appointment. Other physical therapy establishments in town actually don't mind if my child is in the building. They said they dont have much space and they're supposed to maintain social distancing, which they aren't really able to achieve if they're working with another human and standing right by them. But the policy that kids aren't welcome would have been great to know 2 weeks ago, if it's so important. At first I thought the condescending lady was admin coming out to tell me my child was a problem; I offered to leave. Then I realized that this lady was going to be my therapist and there was no way I would allow her to work on me when trust was just destroyed by suggesting I could have a "friend wait with my child out in my car." (???) This lady came across as belittling and angry in her manner. Her suggestions of what I could do with my child seemed uneducated. I wasn't planning on having her with me that day, so if you have anything spontaneous happen, better pick a different facility. This facility also looked cramped and small. The lady asked if she could apologize, and I said "that's fine" - but there was no way I was going to let her work on me after acting disdainful towards me and my child. I didn't want to work with someone with such a bedside manner and let my insurance pay them. It'll probably take a while to get another PT somewhere. I'm really floored about my experience there today. In the future, try not to act insulting towards your patients or their children. We're just humans.
