You would do better to go to the specialist that you need if you have the option. For instance... I had trouble with my foot but if I had known what I know now I would have gone to a podiatrist instead of the wound care center. For one visit my podiatrist gets less than $100 (after insurance adjustments) and had I gone to his office then that is probably about the extent of what the bill would have been for that one visit. But... since it is at the wound care center the JRMC WCC gets around $1200 for the mere fact that these procedures were done in their facility. 2 charges for the same medical activity. One by the doctor... one by the facility. And, believe me, this translates to charges out of my pocket beyond the co-pay.
