Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland, the first and only acute rehabilitation hospital in Montgomery County, first opened our doors in January 2001 to offer specialized inpatient and outpatient treatment for persons with functional limitations. We care for patients 18 years of age or older and, under special circumstances, emancipated minors.
Our Services
We offer comprehensive rehabilitation programs for traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic injuries and surgeries, sports related injuries, work-related injuries, cardiopulmonary conditions and neurological disorders.
Our Locations
Adventist Rehab has two hospital locations: a free-standing 55-bed hospital next to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD and a 22-bed hospital located on the 5th floor of Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD. Adventist Rehab also provides outpatient rehabilitation services both at our hospital location in Rockville and our community-based center in Silver Spring, MD.

Services
Inpatient and outpatient services for Physical, Occupational, Speech Language, Recreational Therapies. We are the ONLY acute rehab facility in a five-state area (including West Virginia, Maryland, DC, Virginia and Delaware) that is CARF accredited for all four specialty rehab programs including Stroke, Spinal Cord, Amputee and Brain Injury. We have specialized teams of CRRNs (Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurses) on staff and consult with over 175 of the area's most distinguished physicians (over 40 of which were acknowledged in Washingtonian Magazine as being "Top Docs" for 2010). Our outpatient services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as an adaptive driving program, hand therapy, wheelchair pressure mapping and seating, neuroptometry, community aphasia group, modified constraint-induced therapy for stroke patients, lymphadema, and balance and vestibular therapy. We have over 100 clinical experts on staff for our locations and promote life-time followup for all diagnoses. We also serve populations of patients suffering from concussions, debility, skin diseases/infections, oncology/neoplasm, orthopedic fractures and joint replacements, back pain, multiple trauma, neurological conditions, Guillian Barre, MS or Parkinson's, Cardiac, circulatory disorders, pulminary/respiratory (non-ventilated), etc.
