The Vet, Dean Rasmussen, is rude, and uncaring about his quality of work. He reeks of smoke and interrupts you if you bring up anything as an issue, won’t compromise, and will tell you to take him to court repeatedly when asking for a fix or refund. Also, watch your step, no one cleans up in the grass after their dog! I cleaned up after mine but had to bring it inside because oddly they don’t offer a garbage can outside.
Note: A friend referred me to All Care, and I had to drive 30 minutes one way for each appointment. I am a professional woman in my 40’s who believes in fair practices, and this individual is not fair and lacks respect for his clients.
Situation: I asked several questions over the phone to Tara before booking the dental cleaning appointment as I previously went to my hometown vet for one of my small dogs which was more expensive so I needed to make sure my other small dog would receive the same process and quality. Tara confirmed it would be the same and include tooth pulling if needed.
When I picked up my dog afterward, I looked at her teeth when I was in the office and could see the detail was lacking as there was tartar left near several teeth next to the gum line and in nooks of the molars. Also I could see tartar left on the canines in a pattern similar to the white area if a child was coloring with a crayon. Clearly there was a lack of detail and care taken in the tartar removal. I advised the women at the desk and she looked for the vet but couldn’t find him. She said she would tell him and I did get a call from him that evening where he said it was probably dried blood and if it didn’t come off in the next week with brushing to call back, which I did and Tara answered. I advised of the issue and that more tartar was collecting in the areas he left. She needed to call me back to see what the vet recommends and if he’d cover the additional work which requires the dog to go back under anesthesia, I was not happy about this. She called back and set up and appointment time, advised to not feed the dog the night before after 7pm just like the first appointment, making it sound like the vet would redo the dental cleaning where he missed tartar. I was unclear if the vet would cover this expense so I called her back to clarify, she was unclear too, and I said I wouldn’t be paying for a second cleaning as I had asked her all the questions upfront.
I took off of work again to drop off the dog and meet with Dean Rasmussen. I had to wait in the office until 2 other dogs went through appointments even though I was on time at 9:15AM! So be prepared to wait far after your appointment time even in the morning hours! During the appointment he asked what the problem was and he couldn’t see the areas I was showing him the tarter, later in the appointment he gets out glasses! He grabs a scissors and starts scrapping teeth, all while my dog is moving to try to get away from him. Not cool, not professional! He claims there’s nothing that he missed and this is the typical results from dental. I advised that is not what I was promised and took the time on the phone with Tara to ensure I would get the same level of cleaning. He started picking on me and said that’s what you get for shopping around for the cheapest place and I should have just stayed at the other place in town. Seriously, this is your argument? How unprofessional to say that to a customer. I let him know that I didn’t shop around at all, and I was sadly referred here! He said well at least your dog didn’t die while under anesthesia as that it would be even worse than the dental issue I’m bringing up! I asked for my money back due to not getting what Tara promised. Dean said no and to take him to court! I asked for a compromise and to get ½ back, he continues to say take me to court repeatedly and over top of me when I try talking. He was very defensive, and would look away from me during most of the conversation as it got heated. I let him know that due to the way he handled this I would be providing a poor review on social media and websites. His comeback was he didn’t care as he didn’t have social media, which he doesn’t understand that you don’t need to own your company name online for someone to give a bad review. He was very defensive, very unprofessional, smells strongly of smoke, rude, and a very unskilled vet in my opinion. Don’t risk it, go elsewhere. Trust me.
Additionally I was not told that he left lose teeth until the return appointment when Dean reviewed her teeth and said he had hoped the teeth would firm back up after the cleaning! That’s pretty important to tell the dog owner so they can keep an eye on teeth that are lose!
